Twelve years ago the communities of Central Pennsylvania decided to join the national movement to celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a variety of programs including the “MLK DREAM Performing Artists Showcase” in Harrisburg.  Hosted in the finest venue, the Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg, this event draws 1500 people annually.  We featured speakers such as Governor Tom Corbett, Lt. Governor Jim Cawyley, Mayor Linda Thompson, among others... "I am proud of supporting you. This is one program that brings out the best of our youth.  We hear too many negativity coming from our communities."  Says Diane Crawford, of the the Hershey Corporation. • This year, 2014 provided a theatrical extravaganza that highlighted the talent of regional youth. The Forum Auditorum at the Capitol was filled to watch our local youth shine.

• Meals were provided and donations of food for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank were requested fron the audience for this "free to the public event."
  
  

This Showcase has become the highlight and culmination of the “Days of Service” promoted by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
